Ingredients
Method
- Thaw the shrimp according to package directions. A quick thaw under cold water works well.
- Lightly brush your air fryer basket with vegetable oil. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, chipotle chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and salt.
- Pat the shrimp completely dry with paper towels. Place the dry shrimp in a zippered plastic bag, pour the seasoning mixture over them, and shake well to coat evenly.
- Arrange the seasoned shrimp in a single layer in the preheated air fryer basket. You might need to cook in two batches. Cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Flip the shrimp and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until they are firm to the touch and slightly shrunk.
- While shrimp cooks, mix together the green salsa (and optionally, a dollop of sour cream for a sauce). Serve the air-fried shrimp with your favorite tortillas, sliced avocado, chopped purple cabbage, and a squeeze of lime.
Notes
- Ensure shrimp are fully thawed and patted dry for best seasoning adhesion.
- Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary for even crisping.
- Adjust spice levels by modifying the amount of chipotle chili powder.
