Ingredients
Method
- Remove the frozen tempura shrimp from the packaging. If your shrimp came with a sauce packet, set it aside for later.
- Lightly toss the frozen shrimp with 1 tbsp vegetable oil (optional, for extra crisp), a pinch of salt, 1/4 tsp black pepper, and 1 tbsp all-purpose flour (optional).
- Place the seasoned frozen tempura shrimp in the air fryer basket in a single, even layer. Ensure they aren't overlapping for maximum crispiness.
- Air fry at 380°F (193°C) for 6 minutes. Carefully flip the shrimp over using tongs.
- Continue to air fry at 380°F (193°C) for another 2-4 minutes, or until the shrimp are golden brown and wonderfully crispy.
- While the shrimp cook, prepare your optional dipping sauces. If your shrimp came with a sauce packet, thaw or heat it according to the package instructions. Serve the hot, crispy shrimp tempura immediately with your favorite sauces.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, lightly spray the shrimp with cooking oil before air frying.
- Ensure shrimp are in a single layer; overcrowding leads to uneven cooking and less crispness.
- Adjust cooking time based on your air fryer model and desired crispness. Nutrition information is an estimate, calculated automatically. Values vary with brands, substitutions and portion sizes.
