Bread Pudding Dream: Air Fryer Magic!

Ingredients
  

  • 4 slices white sandwich bread (cut into cubes)
  • 2 tbsp butter (melted)
  • 1/2 cup half and half
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp corn syrup
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar

Method
 

  1. In a microwave-safe measuring cup, combine corn syrup, butter, and granulated sugar. Microwave until melted and bubbling. Stir well and set aside to cool and thicken.
  2. Grease two oven-safe ramekin baking dishes (4-6 oz. each) and set aside.
  3. Melt the remaining butter in the microwave.
  4. In a clean bowl, whisk together half and half, egg whites, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Slowly pour in the melted butter and whisk until smooth.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes in a separate bowl and stir gently until all bread pieces are completely coated.
  6. Place coated bread mixture into each prepared ramekin. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Top with the remaining coated bread, then evenly distribute the rest of the chocolate chips.
  7. Place the prepared ramekins into your air fryer basket.
  8. Air fry at 325°F (160°C) for 12-14 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.

- Use slightly stale bread for the best texture; it absorbs the custard better.
- For richer flavor, substitute half-and-half with whole milk and a splash of heavy cream.
