- 1 lb green beans (washed and stems trimmed)
- 1/2 tablespoon neutral-flavored oil (olive oil, grapeseed oil, etc)
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt or sea salt
- 1 teaspoon fresh minced garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (freshly ground preferred)
Preheat air fryer to 400ºF (200°C).
In a medium bowl, toss the green beans with oil. Sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic.
Pour into the air fryer basket and shake to distribute evenly. Air fry for 7-9 minutes, shaking halfway through.
With 1 minute remaining in the cook time, add the remaining 1/2 teaspoon of minced garlic to the green beans. Shake the basket and continue cooking until crispy.
Serve immediately.
- For extra crispy air fried green beans, ensure they are thoroughly dry before tossing with oil and seasonings. Any excess moisture will steam them instead of crisping.
- Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if necessary to allow proper air circulation, which is key for that perfect crisp texture.
- To store leftovers, refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat briefly in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 2-3 minutes to regain some crispness.
