Ingredients

  • 1 cup finely shredded cooked chicken (roasted or rotisserie chicken or drained canned cooked chicken)
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 4-6 flour or corn tortillas (about 5-7 inch sized)
  • Oil (for spraying)
  • Guacamole
  • Shredded Lettuce or Cabbage
  • Salsa or Pico de Gallo

Method

  1. In a bowl, combine shredded chicken, sour cream, taco seasoning, and cheddar cheese. Stir to combine.
  2. Warm the tortillas slightly (microwave for 20-30 seconds or briefly on a dry skillet) to make them pliable.
  3. Spoon about 2-3 tablespoons of the chicken mixture onto the center of each tortilla.
  4. Tightly roll up each tortilla, tucking in the sides if possible, to form a flauta shape. Secure with a toothpick if needed.
  5. Lightly spray the flautas all over with cooking oil. Arrange them in a single layer in your air fryer basket.
  6. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Serve immediately with your favorite toppings like guacamole, salsa, shredded lettuce, sour cream, and lime wedges.

Notes

- Use leftover shredded chicken (rotisserie is great!) for a quicker prep.
- Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if needed for maximum crispiness.
- For extra flavor, mix a little lime juice into the chicken filling before rolling.
