Ingredients

  • 1 French bread loaf
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce or tomato sauce
  • 1/3 cup shredded cheese
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: Cooked Pepperoni, Sausage, Bacon pieces, diced Ham, sliced or diced Tomatoes, Mushrooms, Pineapple, etc.
  • Optional: BBQ Sauce, Salsa, White (Alfredo) Sauce, Pesto, etc.

Instructions

  • Cut the French bread loaf to fit your air fryer basket. Slice each piece in half lengthwise.
  • Lightly spray the cut sides of the bread with cooking oil for a crispier crust. Place bread cut-side down in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 360°F (182°C) for 2 minutes.
  • Flip the bread pieces. Spread pizza sauce evenly over the crust, leaving a small border. Add your shredded cheese and desired toppings. If needed, place a small air fryer rack over the toppings to prevent them from flying around.
  • Air fry again at 360°F (182°C) for 2-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the crust is golden and crispy. Check after 2 minutes.
  • Carefully remove the pizzas from the air fryer. Let them cool for about 2 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

- Use a smaller air fryer rack or a piece of foil to weigh down toppings if they tend to fly off.
- For an extra crispy crust, don't skip the initial spray of oil and the first 2-minute air fry before adding toppings.
- Experiment with different sauces like pesto or alfredo, and a variety of cheeses beyond mozzarella.
