Ingredients

  • 2 lbs country-style ribs
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 5 oz barbecue sauce

Method

  1. Rinse the country-style ribs under cold water and pat them thoroughly dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, and ground black pepper. Set this seasoning mixture aside.
  2. Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit (195°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  3. Evenly rub a small amount of the prepared seasoning mixture over all surfaces of the dried ribs. Ensure they are well-coated.
  4. Place the seasoned ribs in a single layer in the preheated air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to ensure even cooking and crisping. Cook at 380 degrees Fahrenheit (195°C) for 20 minutes.
  5. After 20 minutes, carefully remove the air fryer basket. Brush the tops and sides of the ribs generously with barbecue sauce. Return the sauced ribs to the air fryer and cook for an additional 2 minutes, or until the sauce is slightly caramelized. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature; pork should reach 145 degrees Fahrenheit (63°C) for safe consumption.
  6. Serve the juicy Air Fryer Country Style Ribs immediately with your favorite side dishes, like mashed potatoes or coleslaw.

Notes

- For perfectly cooked pork, always use a meat thermometer. Country-style ribs should reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) before resting for 3 minutes. The first time I tried these, I pulled them out too early thinking they were done visually, but the thermometer saved the day!
- Do not overcrowd your air fryer basket. Cook the ribs in a single layer to ensure proper air circulation and even cooking. If needed, cook in batches.
- Storage: Leftover air fryer ribs can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat gently in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes, or until warmed through, adding a splash of apple cider vinegar to keep them moist.
